Curve Appeal

Why does a penis hang low or high or even left or right?  And most importantly..does it matter where it counts?  Well thank heavens no.  Although the penis is stiff when erect (which must be where those clever boys got that creative nickname for an erection) it is by no means immovable.  Ahh I hear a collective sigh from all the partners out there.  The flexibility of the penis is what makes for interesting positions and clever coupling.  Not to mention that it helps cushion and therefore protect the object of its desire.

But what actually causes the angle during an erection?  Well a couple of things actually.  Basically an erection occurs when the sponge like materials inside a penis get flooded with blood. Things get so tense that the muscles tighten the veins that brought all that blood down, making it hard (literally) for the blood to leave until the brain sends a second signal to relax (which happens after ejaculation or faded arousal).  There are actually 3 sponges, two of which (the ‘corpus cavernosa’ just in case you want to google later) rest on top and connect to the pubic bone in a sort of ‘Y’ shape.  The ligament connecting this is what decides the angle—a little to the left or a little to the right.

If you’re talking low or high, then it’s the difference between that spongy mass under the skin of the penis to the actual skin itself.  A lot of skin and less sponge means up it goes while more skin and less sponge hangs low.

Does it matter when it comes to performance or pleasure?  Only if you allow it to.  The curve does not affect it’s mastery in the bedroom.  It merely adds interest to what is not, and should not in my opinion, be a one size fits all.  Oh and one more thing—don’t be surprised if the angle changes as you mature; this is a normal result of the ligaments stretching with age.
